Golden Castle awaits you....Hi, I'm Paul. My family and I look forward to meeting you and learning all about your home/country and culture. Our home has 5 bedrooms. Three bedrooms upstairs and main bathroom with door lock which is shared with family (mostly-Paul), plus the convenience of a separate toilet. Two bedrooms & one bathroom downstairs in a self contained residence.
Large 3 car garage-currently used as a renovators space and plenty of off street parking.
The student bedrooms are upstairs on the 2nd floor and opposite the main bathroom.
The house is fitted with a security alarm and security grills on all windows.
Oct 2016 - I will begin building a student flat with two extra bedrooms downstairs on the ground floor with a shared bathroom and separate toilet for two students, and a small kitchen plus access to the main house on the second level from the back yard. This new accommodation will be completed around Christmas time.
Late 2014, I returned home to Brisbane from over 10 years, working in Jiangsu, China and brought my new family with me.
My wife "Lee" is mainland Chinese and speaks reasonable English - she works in an Airline reservations call centre for American Airlines in the City centre.
Lee's Chinese name is Liping. (pronounced Leeping) and loves sleeping. She's 33 but looks 23, and gets on well with everyone.
Our daughter "Jolie" is very cute and speaks both languages but prefers English. She is 5 years old. She's looking forward to sharing her house with 2 + older sisters or brothers.
We provide nicely appointed accommodation and so close to everything. The weekly fee covers everything, except internet.
In the past, I had also hosted many over 18's home-stay students, from 2000-2003 of whom came from all over the world, for which my partner and I enjoyed immensely.
Our house is situated a short 5 minute stroll from Rode Rd shopping centre. With fast-food restaurants, Gym, Medical centre, physiotherapy, Dentist, Coles supermarket, Wine store, discount stores, delicatessen, bakery, butcher, hairdressers, coffee shops, Post Office, and nail bar...etc. Aldi, Woolworths and IGA supermarkets are also 5-10 minutes drive away.
Prince Charles & Holy Spirit Hospitals are a 1km walk east and NorthWest private emergency hospital is just 3km away in the west.
The 345 bus service stops a short distance from our house and takes 20 minutes to reach the City centre, sometimes less time, depending on traffic.
Our house is just 200m from the 598/599 shopping plazas Busses that can take you to, Everton Park, Brookside, or Westfield Chermside shopping plazas which are just 10 minutes drive from here. This bus also goes to the south side of Brisbane to Garden city Westfield shopping centre which is close to Sunnybank Plaza (Asian shopping metropolis). However this journey can take around 2 hours as it takes you to many other shopping plazas along the way.
A quicker option is the 345 Express Bus (close by) which takes 20 minutes to the city centre and can also help to get you to Sunnybank Plaza and takes you into the underground station in King George Square (CBD) where you can then walk 5 minutes to the Underground station in Queen St Mall opposite a Women's clothing store called (Forever 21) it's half way along the mall on your right (about a 300m walk)- then walk over to the subway steps just before Forever 21 on your left with the glass wall. These steps lead down to Bus stops #(1F) 130 bus & #(1E) 140 bus where you can take either bus to Sunnybank Plaza. This takes around 30 minutes. Please be courteous to other people and wait in a line for these buses. The Queen st Mall - bus station is also close to fast food places which are also good meeting places for friends too.
The Sunnybank Plaza and surrounding shopping centres will Resemble Shanghai, Seoul, or Tokyo as there are Asian people everywhere, you can count white faces on your hand.
Brisbane is a very multicultural city, so please remember to be polite, respectful and courteous to everybody at all times and don't forget to smile and say thanks to people that help you with directions.
Australian people are some of the most warmest and friendliest people in the world. Welcome to Bris Vegas (Brisbane).
