The house is newly and tastefully renovated with four bedrooms, two bathrooms, (three toilets), spacious kitchen and two living areas. It is situated adjacent to the Halswell Quarry Park with internal access to walking and mountain bike tracks.Yet, it is close to a big supermarket, post office, take away food, a newly built public library and community center with swimming pool and community classes such as meditation and yoga. A tennis court is about 10 minutes on foot. It is also about 10 minutes on foot to the nearest bus stop and about 20 minutes to town by car. The host family will provide transport as often as possible, at least once, return per day to a preferred destination such a campus.

Our home is situated on the Porthills, in the south-west of Christchurch. It is in a green belt area with birdsong prominent in the early morning and late afternoons especially. Our property is directly adjacent to the Halswelll Quarry Par, a recreational area with walking tracks, mountain bike tracks, and picnic areas. There are a garden path and door leading into the area for easy relaxation. There is also a library and community complex close by with pool and after-hours programs such as yoga and meditation. A big supermarket with post office, chemist and various take away food outlets is close by - within walking distance for some. Both Canterbury and Lincoln Universities are easily accessible.
