My name is Sirah, I am Italian( actually Roman), I am 44 and I am a professional Tour Guide in Italy. Together with Cleo, I live in a beautiful apartment on the 4th and last floor of a private building downtown Civitavecchia, 5 minutes walking from the harbour, shopping, schools, farmers' market and a park.
I am an enthusiast and joyful person who loves traveling as much as staying at home cooking, listening to music and drinking a glass of local wine.
When I don't travel for work( I take groups of North Americans and British around Italy, I have a pretty laidback lifestyle: I enjoy walking, reading, going to museums in Rome, going to the beach and to the natural spas near my house.
My sister, Francesca, 43, who lives nearby, is a professional interpreter, translater and foreign students teacher and she lived in the United States for 15 years. She teaches English to locals and Italian to students of all ages and nationalities.
My house is quite large for Italian standards and it is made of a living room, a kitchen, a closet, a bathroom, 2 bedrooms, a balcony where I enjoy eating in the summer( there is a beautiful view of the town) and a basement. I also have the luck of having a private car park inside the condo. There is a lot of light and it is very quiet, despite being in the hearth of the old town.
Being only me and Cleo at home I have always felt the house it's too large and empty, for a people's person like me. I don't mind some alone time but I prefer being around people, eben when I am at home. I have been traveling a lot since I was a little girl and met people from all over the world during my work and for pleasure, so I am very open-minded and welcoming. I like to make my guests feel at home and be able to feel free to do whatever they wish but I also enjoy taking care of them and make them feel safe and at ease in a country that is new to them. I love teaching the verbal and not verbal Italian and would be excited to teach you how to cook pasta al dente and to guide you through the Eternal city's treasures while you learn our passionate language. If you decide to stay at my place for a few days or weeks, I can promise you that not only you will improve your language skills but also you will go back home with Italy in your hearth and Sirah and Francesca as friends for life. I love people, I love Italy and I love life!
