The space
2km from Auroville international township and within walking distance of
Kuilapalayam village and all it’s shops, restaurants and other
amenities (banks, ATM, money exchange, medical centre/
pharmacy, travel bureau/taxi’s, etc).
Like an oasis in the desert, our simple yet cosy environment is
great for everyone, be it for one day or one month. Whether
you’re a single traveller, a couple or a family with children
you’ll feel safe within our walled compound. Plus, surrounded
by cool, fragrant greenery, friendly folks and the possibility of
a home cooked meal, you’ll certainly feel at home!!!
Facilities: Single/twin/double rooms all with attached
bathroom. Solar powered hot water. UPS power backup.
All rooms have access to a terrace or balcony. There is also a
common kitchen available for use too. Roof terrace is open for
yoga/meditation practice and we can provide you with some
private sessions which will let you start your day fully present to
your lovingly self. We do not use WiFi for health reasons, but we
can provide cabled internet access.
Interaction with guests
‘Yatra Home Stay’ is companion to ‘Yatra Art and Culture
Foundation’ and Yatra Arts Media. We provide regular everyday
activities for local children and guide them in their learning
journey through arts. Our chief aim is to let children experiment and
follow their passions in order to blossom. By being here you’ll be
able to witness dreams come true!!! As for Yatra Arts Media, beware
you’ll be able to meet great artists in person (and action!). We live
for acting and are professional movie makers. Welcome to our
universe.

Yatra is a heart full of soul. I went to Auroville because I felt that call, but had no plan whatsoever. I must confess, before the trip I was I little uncertain. I used to wonder whether I would really get a glimpse of bliss in that holy place or if I was full of myself only. Divine sent me to Yatra and I got the answer. More than any attraction, only by being there I was fulfilled beyond any expectation. I was welcomed like a family member and any need was taken care of if only asked. I rediscovered the meaning of curiosity, the lymph of life, because I was welcomed to be with village kids and explore arts along with them in their daily activities. I acknowledged marvellous works of theatre and movie making by actually seeing the Yatra Arts Media team in action. My visit of Auroville was taken care of and as short as it was It felt so intense this whole journey. I definitely will come back and spend more time with the Yatra family. I express gratitude for this experience. I learnt beauty is always all around, if only we allow ourselves to deepen in It. Namaskar

Yatra is perfect for somebody staying there for purposes of meeting their own self, for meditation and introspection. It is not a party place, so please plan accordingly. The facilities are sparing, and in line with the goals people visiting auroville would have.
