My 9yr old daughter and I live in a beautiful, warm, safe home. In the UNESCO World Heritage village of Saltaire (only 17 mins to Leeds city centre).
Guests who stay with us want to improve their English. They visit the UK to work or study in or near Leeds or Bradford.
Our guests are international students, university professors, interns, language assistants... If you want to speak better English and experience British culture, you will be happy with us.
You will like the village we live in and the surrounding area because it is very pretty and traditional Yorkshire countryside.
Nearby are nice cafes, bars and restaurants. It is also close to Leeds and Bradford - very easy to get to class or work (unlimited train & bus pass costs ￡22 / week).
We love the outdoors. We go walking in the hills near home, and visit cities, mountains, lakes, coast every month. We take our guests with us.
We speak English and Portuguese, I speak a little French, and we love trying the languages of people who stay with us.

On Friday & Saturday night, my guests often prepare their own food in our kitchen, eat out with friends, or have a takeaway.

A wonderful experience in a very nice place! The house is located in the old Saltaire Village, close to many supermarkets and parks. 2 train stations are reachable in ten minutes' walking.
The host is so kind and always helpful. Furthermore, he's a very talented chef: he can cook dishes of every culture. The house is clean, comfortable and well organized.

At first I was a bit hesitant to book because I thought the home was a bit far, but really it's much faster to get to my school in Leeds City Centre on the train than my classmates take on the bus who live in Leeds. The train was only 17 minutes to Leeds City Centre and its about a 5 min walk from Nev's house.
Nev is a really great guy. He was kind enough to pick us up from the bus station on our first night, which was nice because we had loads of suitcases. He's always happy to help answer questions, show you around or offer advice. Chef Nev is a great cook and I definitely enjoyed not having to cook dinner every night. Bella ( his daughter) is quite a character and enjoyed sitting around the table getting to know each other. We stayed for 10 days and we didn't want to leave. The room was very modern, cozy bed and nice fluffy pillows. We would go out to the bars a few nights a week, all within walking distance.
I would stay with Nev again, next time I come back to Leeds.

There is nice view in local area if you just want to go for a walk. The house is very clean and the owner very kind and pleasant. I was worried because on the map it looked far from Leeds, but only takes 17 minutes train. I arrived to class quicker than mine classmates living in Leeds…
I spent a lot of time practicing with my host, who helped me with grammar and pronounce questions…
Nev´s house was very clean.
Without a doubt, I will return to do my next English course. There, I have enjoyed “good vibes” every time!

You can tell he really cares about his guests: he always knew how to cheer me up if I needed to be and he's been helpful in every possible way.
Everything in the house was very clean and modern. Even if my stay was short it didn't take long for me to feel at home. Wish I could have stayed longer!

Amazing host!!! He helped me a lot during my stay in Leeds, he's kind, he always takes care of everyone and he's always reachable in case you need him. I had a great time with him and he helped me to improve my English daily, correcting my mistakes and suggesting better ways of expressing things. It's been a complete joy to stay in his house.
The house is really nice decorated and it's always clean. My room had everything I needed to study and relax at the same time. ABSOLUTELY WONDERFUL!!

We had a great time in Yorkshire thanks to Nev. He was very welcoming and spent time with us. We were able to chat and play board games with him and his nice daughter to improve our English. He gave us tips about places to visit. He was a great cook thanks to his grandmothers' recipes. ;-) Saltaire is a fantastic place and it is very easy to reach Leeds from the train station which is only a few minutes'walk from Nev's. We had an amazing weather and we fell in love with the Yorshire Dales. We would love to go back one day!

I enjoyed my stay with Nev and his family. It was a pleasure to join our dinner conversations and meet & learn from other students (the food was great too!). Saltaire is a beautiful village to explore, and is well-connected to other locations worth visiting such as Shipley and Leeds. It takes less than 10 minutes to reach the Saltaire train station, and then less than 20 to get to Leeds train station. Thank you for hosting me, for the delicious healthy meals, and the good company!
